The Best Non Invasive Scar Reduction Treatments
- Skin Treatments: Using microdermabrasion, chemical peels or dermal infusion can help boost the skin’s cell turnover to reduce scarring on the surface of the skin.
- Dermal Fillers: These are small injections that help to smooth out the skin almost immediately and are often used when scars are very deep or wide.
- Laser Scar Reduction: The Fractional CO2 laser treatment can help minimize and eliminate scarring caused by surgery, trauma and acne.
If you have scars that you would desperately like to get rid of, you should start with the non-invasive treatment types before moving on to invasive treatment types.
Preventing Scars from Occurring in the First Place
One of the best ways to deal with scars is to stop them from forming in the first place. Of course, it almost goes without saying that some scars are completely unavoidable, and they may have been the result of a surgery and operation that were well worth it.
With that being said, there are some scars that you can prevent. In particular, we are speaking of acne scars. When pimples, blackheads and whiteheads appear on the face or elsewhere on the skin, you’re first reaction is to pick them. This is also the worst thing you could do if you’re trying to prevent and get rid of scars.
When you pick at acne, the situation only worsens. Instead, when you have a zit, apply a warm washcloth to the area for five to ten minutes. With two clean cotton swabs, gently push the area so that the whitehead or blackhead emerges. Clean the area to finish with an antiseptic face wash.
