Facial Enhancement For Asian Faces
The Asian Face
The aging Asian face experiences many of the same changes as the aging Caucasian face. These changes include the 3 D’s of aging – Deflation (loss of facial volume), Descent (sagging of the facial tissues), and Deterioration (texture and colour changes of the skin).

Aesthetic procedures for the Asian face focus on softening wrinkles, increasing facial volume, and evening the skin tone. Many Asian patients also seek a slimmer, contoured face that is more triangular in shape. This appearance is easily achieved through the use of Botox and dermal fillers.
The use of Botox will soften wrinkles in the upper face, providing a more rested look. It may also be used to relax the masseter muscles (chewing muscles), which will narrow the lower face, creating the much-desired “V Shape”. The result is a more attractive, and youthful-looking face.
Injectable dermal fillers such as Juvederm and Restylane effectively restore volume, giving the face a more “uplifted” and slimmer appearance. Comprised of hyaluronic
acid, dermal fillers are most commonly used to plump facial lines and folds, and add volume to the cheeks, lips, and under eye hollows. In the Asian face, dermal fillers
may also be used to enhance the chin and nose bridge, providing contour and a three- dimensional effect to those areas which tend to be more broad and flat.
Botox and dermal fillers are often used together in a procedure known as the “Non-Surgical Facelift“, “Soft Lift ™“, or “Liquid Facelift.” This combination treatment addresses multiple signs of aging at the same time, for an overall refreshed appearance that is subtle and natural-looking.
As with all skin types, Asian skin is vulnerable to increased pigmentation, melasma, and uneven skin tone due to photodamage. Pender Medi Spa offers specialized laser treatments that are safe on Asian skin tones to help address these issues. Physician-grade skincare products are also available to help rejuvenate, lighten, brighten, and protect the skin.
